ARLINGTON, VA (July 30, 2021) – Arlington Community Federal Credit Union (ACFCU) announced a partnership with local business Good Company Doughnuts to kickstart a community giving campaign to benefit local nonprofit Bridges to Independence.
From August 1 through August 15, 2021, ACFCU will match the price of lemonade-themed treats purchased from Good Company Doughnuts to support Bridges’ Lemonade Stand project. Community members, not limited to members of the credit union, can email their Good Company Doughnuts receipts with lemonade purchases to ACFCU (Lemonade@Arlingtoncu.org) to be part of the matching donation up to $1,000 from ACFCU to Bridges to Independence.
Bridges’ Lemonade Stand program trains young entrepreneurs in salesmanship, promotion, and management of their own lemonade stands. Students learn about the value of saving and use ACFCU accounts for their profits, while also attending financial education programs provided by the credit union.
“We are extremely proud to support Bridges to Independence,” stated Karen L. Rosales, ACFCU’s President and CEO, “The entrepreneurial and leadership skills learned through the Lemonade Stand program will propel the next generation forward.”
Good Company Doughnuts, a locally and veteran owned business in Arlington County, is donating 10% of lemon-flavored treat proceeds to Bridges to Independence and has supported the nonprofit’s clients through the COVID-19 pandemic, giving out free meals to families in need.
“We were able to help feed families in need this year because our customers put us in a position to do so,” explained Charles Kachadoorian, owner of Good Company Doughnuts, “and we’re happy to continue to help in any way we can.”
This campaign is part of ACFCU’s continued commitment to the community, local business, and nonprofit partners. For more information on ACFCU’s community initiatives, visit www.arlingtoncu.org/community.
