ARLINGTON, VA – Carla Smith, of the Arlington Community Federal Credit Union, has been selected as an Emerging Training Leader by Training Magazine.
Out of 50 nominations, Smith is one of 25 training professionals who were recognized for inspiring and engaging their organizations with exceptional leadership skills, business acumen, and innovation. The winners will be recognized in the March 2021 issue of Training Magazine and will be honored in an awards ceremony on February 23, 2021.
Smith joined ACFCU in 2012 as a Member Relationship Advisor and has held numerous positions in the organization including Learning & Development Specialist before becoming ACFCU’s first Quality Monitoring Specialist in 2019. She is known throughout the organization for her depth of knowledge of the credit union’s services, her patience in supporting colleagues in their development, and her empathy for listening to members’ stories. She frequently adapts to support other departments within the organization and members have come to know her and ask for her by name. Smith was recognized by ACFCU as the staff winner of the Core Values award for Empathy in both 2018 and 2019. She is a graduate of the Leadership Center for Excellence’s Young Professionals Program.
